Product Updates: v3.4.0
MAJOR FEATURES UPDATES:
- New Geo Chart Widget: We have introduced the Geo Chart widget, available in the Add Widget popup.
- It offers similar configuration options like other charts (General, Data Sources, Filters, Errors) and allows plotting by Geographies such as Continent, Country, State, Zip Code.
- Styling options include Heat Map and Simple Colour.
- The chart also supports data comparison by time period, displaying the variance in the tooltip for each geography.
- Chart Type Conversion: You can now seamlessly convert any chart type to another without losing data or needing to recreate the chart from scratch. The transition happens smoothly, preserving the integrity of your visualizations.
- New “Date Format” Option: The “Is Date” option has been replaced with “Date Format” for all date-related fields across widgets. You can now define a custom date format (e.g., MM/DD/YYYY) using special characters like YYYY for year, MM for month, and DD for day. This format will be applied consistently across UI elements such as axis labels and tooltips.
MINOR FEATURES UPDATES:
- Table data tooltips now include time-period comparison details, similar to trend chart tooltips, showing MoM and WoW comparisons etc for each row. The Stacked Bar Chart also now supports this enhanced tooltip.
- Improved Error Information in widgets using custom data sources, which will now display more intuitive error messages if the underlying query is invalid.
- The “Fill Data Gaps” (previously “Zero Value Comparison”) feature has been enhanced to better handle missing data in trend charts. Enabling or disabling this option controls how missing dates are managed to ensure smooth trend continuity.
STABILITY FIXES:
- The stacked bar chart is now compatible with parameterized dimensions, and it displays comparison period data correctly in tooltips.
- The widget size is now retained when moving it in and out of a widget group, ensuring a consistent layout.
